Lightbeam Health Solutions to Host Dr. Don Rucker at HIMSS21 in Las Vegas

IRVING, Texas—Lightbeam Health Solutions, the leader in end-to-end population health management solutions and services, announces that Dr. Don Rucker will speak at HIMSS in Las Vegas, Nevada, for a Lightning Session presentation and meet-and-greet event hosted by Lightbeam. Dr. Rucker is the former National Coordinator for Healthcare Information Technology from the Office of the National Coordinator for Health IT (ONC).

The presentation will take place at the HIMSS Lightning Session pavilion (Sands Booth #6639) on Wednesday, August 11, at 3:45 PM PST. Dr. Rucker will present for about 20 minutes, followed by a meet-and-greet at the Lightbeam booth (Sands Booth #2060).

As care continues to transform from traditional settings to anywhere, anytime access, application programming interfaces (APIs) are key to seamless data exchange. During his presentation, Dr. Rucker will showcase how the industry is moving towards modern interoperability and how APIs and standards like FHIR will impact the future of population health.

“Every data point makes a difference,” said Dr. Kent Locklear, CMO of Lightbeam Health Solutions. “If a provider cannot see the full picture of a patient’s health, they cannot provide care appropriately. Dr. Rucker’s work with the 21st Century Cures Act has helped to advance how patient information is shared, and HIMSS attendees should not miss this opportunity to hear from him directly.”

“The Cures Act is a grand-scale policy update that transforms the way clinical data is shared,” said Dr. Rucker. “I am passionate about this topic and look forward to joining Dr. Locklear at HIMSS to discuss the added transparency and patient access it brings.”
