CoxHealth

It’s what we do. And now, we’ve been recognized by the March of Dimes for giving babies born at CoxHealth the best possible start by eliminating all deliveries before 39 full weeks of pregnancy, unless medically necessary.

The last few weeks of pregnancy are incredibly important to a baby’s development. During this time your baby isn’t just putting on weight – he or she is experiencing important development of the brain and other vital organs. Babies born just a few weeks early have higher rates of hospitalization and illness than babies born full-term, with health risks that can continue throughout the first year of life.

By preventing elective early deliveries, we’re ensuring our babies get off to the healthiest start possible. We’re proud to be among a select few health systems consistently achieving this goal. In fact, CoxHealth is the only health system in Missouri to be recognized for an early elective delivery rate of zero percent at all our birthing hospitals.
