Cancer Care Center of South Texas, we are committed to providing you with the best and most advanced, complete care available. We begin by offering therapies proven to be effective and advanced diagnostic and treatment technologies. We continue by providing unprecedented access to new investigational drugs through clinical trials cancer care center

Texas Oncology today announced that the physicians of Cancer Care Centers of South Texas (CCCST) are joining Texas Oncology, effective November 1, enhancing cancer treatment services to patients in the San Antonio area.

Texas Oncology — a network of more than 350 physicians providing care in more than 150 sites across Texas and southeastern Oklahoma — is an established provider with leading-edge treatments and technology, as well as clinical trials to help patients fight cancer. Through Texas Oncology, medical teams and patients will have access to significant additional resources, including expanded research, advanced technology, and more opportunities to participate in national clinical trials.

“Our patients will benefit from this new relationship with Texas Oncology, which strengthens our ability to deliver the most advanced, innovative cancer treatment available, while providing the compassionate and personalized care that we and our Texas Oncology colleagues are known for,” said Manuel Antonio Santiago, M.D., president, Cancer Care Centers of South Texas.

Thirty-one CCCST physicians in 16 locations in and around San Antonio will join Texas Oncology’s growing practice, adding several specialties to Texas Oncology, including a designated center of excellence by the Myelodysplastic Syndromes Foundation and a complete anticoagulation and thrombosis management service. Patients will have access to advancements from Texas Oncology including the nationally recognized Austin Brain Tumor Center and Texas Center for Proton Therapy, opening soon in Dallas/Fort Worth. Patients also can participate in innovative programs such as the Genetic Risk Evaluation and Testing Program; survivorship support; advance care planning; and other family and patient support services. While the name of the facilities will change to Texas Oncology, patients will continue to be treated by the same physicians and support teams.

“We share with our new colleagues at Cancer Care Centers of South Texas a commitment to collaborate as a statewide clinical team to deliver excellent care to patients close to the support of family and loved ones,” said Dr. R. Steven Paulson, president and chairman of the board for Texas Oncology. “Working together, our priority is providing comprehensive, community-based, compassionate cancer care to San Antonio and surrounding areas.”
