CARE Hawaii is a behavioral healthcare organization providing a variety of behavioral health services throughout the State of Hawaii. Services are provided to individuals throughout the lifespan, from infancy, childhood, adolescence, and adulthood to senior citizens. People with serious mental illness, developmental delays, and addictions are all served by CARE Hawaii. Services are typically provided in the individual’s home and community, or through one of CARE’s residential programs.

Many services are funded by and overseen by contracts with the State of Hawaii and the Federal government. Services are also funded through various insurance companies.

CARE’s staff include psychiatrists, registered nurses, psychologists, social workers, marriage and family counselors, counselors, behavioral specialists, case managers, and personal service workers.

CARE’s offices are located in Honolulu on the island of Oahu; Lihue on the island of Kauai, Kahului on the island of Maui, and Hilo and Kona on the island of Hawaii.

CARE Hawaii’s philosophy is that consumers of behavioral health services may be empowered to fully integrate into the community. CARE Hawaii believes that recovery and wellness are attainable for all consumers and that consumers thrive best when receiving services based on evidence based best practices. CARE is dedicated to employing providers who are trained and skilled in evidence based practices and to providing ongoing training, supervision, and quality assurance activities as well as providing an effective and accountable administrative support structure for service delivery.
