The Whole Child

Our mission is to give children of all ages the skills, support and security they need to build emotionally healthy lives and become caring, responsible adults.

Our commitment to children includes their parents, whom we empower to create nurturing families. Together, we enrich our community and our world. We envision a society that embraces children as its most precious resource and that is actively committed to their safety, emotional well-being and ability to thrive at home, school and play.

The Whole Child is a 62-year-old non-profit organization providing Mental HealthFamily HousingParent Enrichment and Nutrition Education services to some of the most vulnerable families in Los Angeles County.

Our team provides a comprehensive array of interventions to families with children and youth in under served populations.  We have the unique capability to seamlessly cross-refer our clients to applicable programs within the agency as needed.  This allows us to quickly and effectively stabilize families and help them find resilience in their most challenging times.

Join The Whole Child at the 2020 Greater Los Angeles Homeless Count at one of four sites we’ll be leading around the county:  East Los Angeles, Pico Rivera, East Whittier and Santa Fe Springs.  This point-in-time count helps the County determine where funds are needed most.

The Greater Los Angeles Homeless Count is January 21, 22, and 23, and covers all LA County except the cities of Glendale, Pasadena, and Long Beach, which conduct their own counts. If you are interested seeing the results from 2019, visit the Los Angeles Homeless Services Authority for more information.
