Life Stream

LifeStream is a behavioral health and social services organization that provides high-quality treatment, education, care management and rehabilitation services to children, adolescents and adults. Located in Central Florida, LifeStream primarily serves the residents of Lake and Sumter Counties, with homeless services provided in Orange County.

Beginning in 1969 as a component of Waterman Memorial Hospital in Eustis, LifeStream became an independent non-profit organization in 1971. Since then, LifeStream has grown to twenty-one facilities and fifty-two programs to help those who suffer from mental illness and substance abuse achieve recovery and resiliency.

Over the years LifeStream has helped hundreds of thousands of individuals across our community. In Fiscal Year 2013 alone, LifeStream provided services for 12,921 unduplicated clients. Total visits of 290,895. Yet with tens of thousands of individuals in need across our community going untreated each year, LifeSteam’s volunteers and staff remain committed to reaching out and empowering individuals to achieve recovery and resiliency in their own lives.

We are pleased to report that LifeStream has been accredited for a period of three years for its behavioral health programs. The latest accreditation is the fourth consecutive Three-Year Accreditation that CARF, the international accrediting body, has awarded to our organization.

By pursuing and achieving accreditation, LifeStream has demonstrated that it meets international standards for quality and is committed to pursuing excellence.

This accreditation decision represents the highest level of accreditation that can be awarded to an organization and shows the organization’s substantial conformance to the CARF standards. An organization receiving a Three-Year Accreditation has put itself through a rigorous peer review process and has demonstrated to a team of surveyors during an on-site visit that its programs and services are of the highest quality, measurable, and accountable.

LifeStream is a not-for- profit organization that has been providing a full array of behavioral health services in the central Florida area since 1971.

Progress Health System was created by LifeStream Behavioral Center and Meridian Behavioral Healthcare to promote the development and growth of a network of healthcare providers. Progress Health System is dedicated to bringing leadership, innovation, entrepreneurship, evidence-based and people purposed systems of care together to the benefit of affiliates and partners, including payers, advocates, and our communities.
