LSU Health Care Services Division
The School of Allied Health Professions is charged with the responsibility of educating healthcare professionals that make up the allied health work force. Since its inceptioninto the LSU Health Sciences Center at New Orleans in 1970, our school has graduated more than 7,000 allied health practitioners representing nine healthcare professions. Creating an educational environment that fosters excellence has required dedication and a sustained effort by our faculty.
The results of this dedication can be seen in the growth of our school over the past half century. We have seen a record increase in the number of applicants and graduates for all of our programs, increased productivity in the areas of scientific research and scholarship and community outreach programs that have become a part of the fabric of the LSU Health Sciences Center. As we approach the 50th Anniversary of the School of Allied Health Professions, I believe that it is important to highlight the work and accomplishments of our faculty, students and staff. Their efforts demonstrate a commitment to maintaining the spirit of excellence that has been the hallmark of our academic and clinical programs.
