May 13 : 2014 Top Black Book EHR Systems Announced for Dermatology

health systems

Surveyed EHR users narrowed down an elite group of systems vendors across probing key performance indicators from a crowded field of over 150 dermatology specialty software firms. As thousands of physician practices still scramble to select and implement records systems or exchange out original EHR choices, current adopters identify the firms that deliver on implementation success, productivity, outcomes, meaningful use achievement, connectivity and crucial stimulus fund requirements.
Black Book Rankings, well known internationally for accurate, impartial customer satisfaction surveys in the multiple services and software industries, conducted a sweeping four-month user poll to determine the highest ranked Electronic Health and Medical Record software systems for 2014. As part of a special research focus on implemented EHR users, Black Book reveals industry trends and announced those vendors with the highest scores in client experience among dermatology specialists.

“Product and vendor loyalty among several niche EHR specialists is on the upward trajectory,” said Doug Brown, Black Book’s managing partner. “The vendor’s abilities to meet the evolving demands of interoperability, networking, mobile devices, accountable care, patient accessibility, customization for specialty workflow, and reimbursement are the main factors that the replacement mentality and late adoption are turning course in specialties such as dermatology.”

Dermatology is one of the US market’s slowest specialty adopters of EHR with only 34% of practices implementing a first system before last year. In 2014, Dermatology is one of the fastest growing market segments of new EHR implementations, according to Black Book polling.

However, about half of solo dermatology practices and small groups have not yet fully implemented their original EHR for non-vendor related issues, and 81% of those still not completely functional with their EHR are still considering a replacement purchase in the next twelve months.

Based on the aggregate client experience and customer satisfaction scores on eighteen key performance indicators, the top-ranked dermatology electronic health records systems for 2014 inclusive of all practice sizes and delivery sites is Boca Raton, Florida-based, Modernizing Medicine, Inc.

Other dermatology vendors with scores exceeding expectations are: Allscripts, Dr Chrono, eDerm Systems, e-MDs, EZ Derm, Greenway and Praxis.

“High performing vendors have emerged from the pack as practice implementations succeed and fail, meaningful use attestations are reviewed, and users assess their vendor’s capabilities to meet their individual practice needs ,” said Brown.

Black Book Rankings surveyed nearly 26,000 healthcare records professionals, physician practice administrators, and hospital leaders in the information technology arenas to provide EHR users, media, investors, quality minded vendors, and prospective buyers of EHR software with a comprehensive comparison of the industry’s top respected and performing vendors. Black Book Rankings employs detailed key performance indicators targeted at ensuring high product and service performance through comparing vendors from the customer experience.
