Mayo Clinic Tops Most Specialties for 36 Consecutive Years in U.S. News Rankings

ROCHESTER, Minn. — Mayo Clinic once again tops U.S. News & World Report’s “Best Hospitals” rankings for 2025-2026, marking the 36th time since the list began. The clinic is featured on the Honor Roll and ranks in the top three for more specialties than any other U.S. hospital.

“We are proud to be recognized as a healthcare leader, reflecting our staff’s dedication to excellence, innovation, and patient-first care,” says Gianrico Farrugia, M.D., Mayo Clinic president and CEO. “This honor reinforces our focus on advancing the possibilities in medicine.”

Mayo Clinic continues to invest in the future of healthcare through initiatives like Mayo Clinic Platform and Bold. Forward. Unbound., blending physical and digital care with AI, robotics, and automation to meet evolving patient needs.

U.S. News’ Honor Roll highlights the top 20 hospitals with the highest scores across 15 specialties and 22 procedures and conditions. Mayo Clinic is the only organization with two hospitals on the list: Mayo Clinic in Arizona marks its ninth consecutive year, and Mayo Clinic in Rochester earned the highest overall score.

State and Regional Hospital Rankings
Mayo Clinic once again holds the No. 1 spot in U.S. News state rankings for Minnesota and Arizona and remains the leading hospital in the Jacksonville metro area. Additionally, Mayo Clinic Health System in Eau Claire, Wisconsin, is recognized as a “Best Regional Hospital” in Northwestern Wisconsin.

“Being top-ranked year after year isn’t just about awards—it reflects consistent, dependable excellence,” said Sean Dowdy, M.D., chief value officer at Mayo Clinic. “True quality means delivering world-class care even under pressure and amid change. Our teams remain focused on what matters most: the patient.”
