The Cardiac and Pulmonary Rehab content and workflow helps support CMS’ readmission reduction program implemented as part of the Affordable Care Act, specifically related to chronic obstructive pulmonary disease (COPD). The documentation in MediLinks Outpatient software accommodates and adheres to these new regulations for patients being treated in the cardiac and pulmonary rehabilitation programs.

Pulmonary Rehabilitation software is very focused on an Individual Treatment Plan (ITP) better known in the traditional rehabilitation setting as a Plan of Care. As a result, content follows the AACVPR’s guidelines and includes the Daily Treatment Note, Six Minute Walk, Clinical Outcomes Flowsheets and Home Exercise.
The MediLinks software allows the flexibility of centralized scheduling, to help manage the needs of the cardiac and pulmonary rehab programs, and can be shared with other outpatient departments. The scheduling component is integrated with charting, to ensure the therapist completes the documentation. There is also a Task List configurable for each user to provide a summary of the important tasks for each payment, and an easy way to manage referrals and track authorizations.
