Modernizing Medicine Ranked #1 On South Florida Business Journal’s Best Places to Work List

modernizing medicine

Modernizing Medicine, Inc., creator of the Electronic Medical Assistant® (EMA™), announced that it earned the #1 spot on the South Florida Business Journal’s Best Places to Work list in the large company category. The announcement comes a day after the company’s fifth anniversary of its founding.

Modernizing Medicine was one of 40 finalists, which were divided among three categories (small, medium and large company). Over 200 nominations were submitted, and online surveys completed by employees determined the top 40 finalists.

“To be included on the top of the Best Places to Work list is quite an honor considering the caliber of companies in South Florida,” said Daniel Cane, CEO and co-founder of Modernizing Medicine. “And to be recognized as #1 in the large company category after only five years since our start up is extremely rewarding. Our company helps physicians to improve efficiencies and helps enhance quality of care through improved outcomes, and each member of the Modernizing Medicine team plays a vital role in achieving that goal. That our employees spoke so highly of working here is especially gratifying, since we diligently strive to create and maintain a positive and dynamic culture that allows them to thrive.”

For Modernizing Medicine, an important factor in maintaining that atmosphere is hiring talented and passionate people who enthusiastically share a mission and a way of working collaboratively as a team.

“It’s important to us, too,” said Dr. Michael Sherling, Modernizing Medicine’s CMO and co-founder, “that senior leaders engage with all employees in a variety of ways, encourage creativity and innovation and gather feedback for workplace improvements.”

Employees located at Modernizing Medicine’s headquarters in Boca Raton can have one-on-one conversations with Cane and Sherling during weekly breakfasts and lunches provided by the company. The company’s open and transparent workspace enables employees to communicate and collaborate easily with teammates and with leadership. Remote employees are brought to South Florida for meetings, such as the annual All Hands Company Meeting, and engaged in monthly company-wide meetings through live streaming. First Friday celebrations happen every month to celebrate accomplishments and applaud both individual and company successes.

The rankings were revealed at a luncheon earlier today, and the company will celebrate both the award and five-year milestone during an event at its headquarters, with remote staff joining the festivities virtually. Additional details about the Best Places to Work awards and the full list of honorees are available on the South Florida Business Journal’s website.
