Mount Sinai launches MountSinaiNY Mobile App to access EPIC EHR

mountsinainy

Mount Sinai Health System has posted MountSinaiNY, a mobile application designed in-house and aimed at engaging patients by making it easier to find information and services the health system offers.

“The MountSinaiNY app is a digital gateway to the many services we provide at Mount Sinai,” Mount Sinai CIO Kumar Chatani said in a statement. “We continue to use innovative technology to engage patients while streamlining their experience within our health system.”

The app features access to general information about the health system, including finding a doctor and making an appointment, paying hospital bills and accessing medical records via MyMountSinaiChart as well as details about visiting hours, directions and parking.

Future updates to the app may include telemedicine, way finding, symptom tracking, deeper Epic EHR integration, and emergency management features, officials noted.

Mount Sinai has been working with LifeMap – the sole commercial developer to participate in Apple’s ResearchKit launch – for more than two years, developing other mobile health apps together, including the Asthma Health and COPD Navigator apps.

The MountSinaiNY app is available at the Apple App Store.
