New Enterprise Software Hub for Healthcare Solutions develops at Denver

4-steps-for-ensuring-a-successful-ehr-optimization-project

Swisslog, a leading supplier of automation and software solutions for material transport, medication management and hospital supply chain, is investing in a new enterprise software team who will drive global strategy from the company’s North American headquarters in Denver, Colorado.

The first of what will be several new hires for this team includes Eugene Baxter, who was appointed Senior Vice President of Enterprise Software. An experienced healthcare software development leader, Baxter comes to Swisslog from NextGen Healthcare, where he was Director of Research and Development.

“Swisslog is certainly not a new name in healthcare; they’ve been in business over 100 years,” remarks Baxter. “But, what really drew me to this opportunity is what’s on the near horizon with their technology. By bringing together hospital supply chain, material transport and medication management on a single platform, Swisslog is connecting disparate pieces of an increasingly large supply chain continuum.”

Discussing a “single platform,” Baxter is referring to the company’s proven warehouse management software, which now will be leveraged for hospital systems, enabling functionality such as chain-of-custody and consolidated service center management.

“In this industry, we continually hear talk about big data. With our systems in over 3,000 hospitals worldwide, Swisslog certainly creates and manages a sizable piece of that data,” says Stephan Sonderegger, President of Swisslog Healthcare Solutions. “The new enterprise software team is charged with transforming the management and dissemination of this information in a way that creates an entirely new clinical and patient experience.”
