New IMO 2.0 Enhanced Terminology Platform Release Announced

crowder

Intelligent Medical Objects, Inc. (IMO), the market leader in medical terminology services for electronic health record (EHR) systems, has announced that general availability of the new IMO® 2.0 Enhanced Terminology Platform (ETP) will be .

The new IMO 2.0 platform includes a comprehensive terminology architecture to support IMO partners’ efforts to comply with the EHR Incentive Program Stage 3 (Meaningful Use Stage 3), the 2015 ONC Certification Criteria and new requirements posed by accountable care organizations. IMO encourages its EHR partners to accelerate their adoption of this platform to ensure just-in-time terminology access. With an automatic, silent update feature that allows for effortless, continual updates of medical dictionaries, IMO ETP customers will be prepared for new terminology requirements. This new platform is a foundational technology requirement to address all the clinical terminology needs for healthcare providers and will “future-proof” IMO partners’ investment in their EHRs for the long term.

Features of this new platform include:

  • The IMO appliance with silent terminology updates
  • Support for Natural Language Processing using bulk mapping and concept tagging services
  • IMO Long-Term Terminology Management (LTTM) service to provide major dictionary refreshes quarterly
  • IMO Map (IT) service to review and customize local terminology mapping
  • IMO Clinical Quality Measures (CQM) dashboard to compare user dictionaries against the latest CQM data and identify any gaps
  • Trial license to the IMO Anywhere® solution, a mobile enabled service that allows users to access IMO Terminology anytime, anywhere on virtually any device – smartphone, tablet, laptop or desktop computer

IMO 2.0 ETP gives users the benefit of the most current IMO Terminology and allows for future capabilities, such as adding Natural Language Processing. IMO 2.0 ETP has a new “terminology toolkit” to apply a variety of tools to the tuning and administration of EHRs, with a new start-up wizard to ease installation and a control panel to simplify administration.

Frank Naeymi-Rad, PhD, MBA, Chairman and Chief Executive Officer of IMO said: “This new platform is a major advance in medical terminology services. Now, every provider organization, large or small, will have the most comprehensive and current medical dictionaries available, without having to manage the dictionaries themselves, so they can focus on what they do best – patient care.”

“With this service, clients are able to take advantage of IMO’s unique interface terminology and lexical IDs to get full mapping to all relevant administrative and reference terminologies (such as ICD-10-CM, SNOMED CT®, LOINC®, etc.) at any time and from any application”, stated Andrew S. Kanter, MD, MPH, FACMI, Chief Medical Officer of IMO, “whether from their EHR, data warehouse or analytics engine, clients have all the appropriate codes they need.”
