New Zealand Ministry of Health Taps Accenture Consortium for EHR Rollout

new zealand ministry of health

The Ministry of Health in New Zealand has selected an Accenture and MartinJenkins consortium as their strategic partner to support the development of a two-stage business case for an EHR rollout, CIO New Zealand first reports. As part of the contract, Accenture will work the Ministry’s EHR project team on the business case that will be presented to the Cabinet for approval in early June 2017. Accenture was selected after a competitive request for proposal (RFP) process with 7 other potential companies that was evaluated by a joint team of both Ministry and sector representatives.

“We were impressed with the depth and breadth of the responses – it was clear this is an area where a number of the respondents have niche skills,” says Giles Southwell, chief technology and digital services officer, Ministry of Health, in a statement. “Accenture consortium’s response demonstrated key skills across the board that will help in developing a robust business case for the single EHR.”
