Nextech Launches ICD-10 Coding Assistance

ophthalmology

Nextech, a leading provider of specialty-focused healthcare technology solutions for physician practices, today announced the release ofMDIntelleSys, a Nextech Company’s newest software, IntelleChart 6.6.2. The enhancements to Intellechart EHR are specifically designed to meet the specific documentation demands of ophthalmologists, helping ensure compliance as they transition to ICD-10 without sacrificing efficiency.

“These enhancements showcase that our technology is not only ready for the ICD-10 transition, but we’re also working to help physicians proactively eliminate errors and improve documentation in an efficient manner,” said Dr. Dan Montzka, chief medical officer of Nextech. “Furthermore, by supporting mobile functionality with HTML5, we are taking an additional step toward solidifying our position as the market leader across all platforms in the ophthalmology space.”

IntelleChart 6.6.2 includes the following key functionalities:

  • Intelligent ICD-10 enhancements: Rather than using a walk through or translation table, the system is able to auto-generate codes, saving the provider from having to learn several new codes, while also highlighting areas where documentation may need additional information to ensure compliance.
  • IntelleCheck: This feature works in conjunction with Adaptive Template Technology to flag potential problems with findings from a documented visit and notifies the doctor if a condition conflicts with the patient problem list. This eliminates mismatched findings, decreases the risk of audits and improves care overall.
  • HTML5: The system will now support full browser portability, making IntelleChart accessible on a number of host platforms. A patient detail window in HTML5 will also provide users with access to the entire suite of patient information, anywhere, anytime.

“One of the most prevalent requests of providers using an EHR is for their system to be smart and notify the doctor of potential issues from a patient’s history and previous visit,” states Christina Majeed, chief product officer. “Our latest technology, Intellecheck, meets the industry need to be proactive about potential patient problems, overall improves a doctor’s ability to provide patient care, and transforms EHR from a charting tool into a valuable patient care delivery tool.”
