NextGate and MD EMR Systems Partner to Identify and Eliminate Duplicate Patient Records for Optimal Data Migration

Top KLAS-Rated EMPI supports data migration efficiency with Enterprise Unique ID during EMR conversions

/EIN News/ — MONROVIA, Calif., July 27, 2017 (GLOBE NEWSWIRE) — NextGate, a global leader in patient identity management, and MD EMR Systems, an electronic medical record solutions developer specializing in data migration, have established a strategic partnership to deliver improved health data management and integration.

The collaboration will enable the discovery, analysis, and management of duplicate and incomplete patient records using NextGate’s Enterprise Master Patient Index (EMPI) for seamless migration of information when integrating electronic medical records (EMRs), electronic health records (EHRs) and other system applications. The NextGate EMPI builds on the successful services of MD EMR Systems to manage migration for complex data environments by reconciling patient records prior to consolidation. The result is a unified healthcare IT system that delivers a longitudinal patient record across the continuum for enhanced care delivery and patient safety.

“Providers are increasingly looking for solutions to harness patient data from multiple, disparate systems for enhanced care collaboration and meaningful decision-making,” said Mike Duckworth, founder of MD EMR Systems. “This partnership makes it possible to integrate all of them with superior accuracy and integrity for greater quality and safety, operational efficiency and workflow.”

NextGate and MD EMR Systems recently partnered with a large health system in the Midwest to complete a successful conversion from a legacy EMR system to a new enterprise EMR. The EMPI generated an Enterprise Unique ID for patient records prior to the data migration, identifying duplicates within each system and combining incomplete records. The process simplified migration between the two EMR systems by producing a production-ready database with each patient record assigned a common patient identifier.

“With the proliferation of health information exchange, organizations are facing serious data management and migration challenges,” said David Bennett, NextGate’s Vice President of Partnerships. “This partnership ensures our customers have standardized information no matter the source, and can rely on proper data governance to support interoperability. By combining our innovative technologies and expertise, organizations can optimize their data for improved clinical, financial and operational performance.”
