  • The NHS Wales app has relaunched, with the Welsh government urging patients to download it for digital access to healthcare services
  • The app will be updated over the next year with features like tracking NHS waiting list positions for users.
  • In addition, the Welsh Identity Verification Service is being rolled out across the country alongside the app.

The NHS Wales app has relaunched, with the Welsh government urging patients to download it for digital access to healthcare services.

In the next year, the bilingual app will add features to track NHS waitlists, view appointments, and manage health pre-surgery.

Sarah Murphy called the re-launch a major milestone in advancing the digital transformation of Wales’ healthcare system.

At the NHS Digital Summit, Murphy said the app will soon let users track waiting times and manage appointments digitally.

The app lets users order prescriptions, view health history, access trusted advice, and use secure messaging and feedback tools.

Now fully launched, the app includes Welsh ID Verification, letting users register via GP or online with NHS Log-in.

At the summit, Murphy highlighted the need for closer collaboration between NHS, Welsh Government, and Digital Health to drive digital healthcare forward.

She said the summit is a reset, renewing commitment to collaboration across the system to deliver better care for Wales.

In January 2025, Wales announced a national EHR and app to give expectant mothers instant access to full maternity records.
