NIH Selects 65 Vendors on New $20B IT Commodities GWAC

The National Institutes of Health has awarded 65 companies positions on the five-year, $20 billion Chief Information Officer – Commodities and Solutions government wide acquisition contract, Federal News Radio reported Tuesday.

Michael O’Connell writes that CIO-CS succeeds the Electronic Commodities Store III contract, which will remain valid through May 9.

“This GWAC is intended to support the full range of IT needs across the federal government with a particular emphasis on agencies like NIH and its parent, [the Department of Health and Human Services], that are involved in healthcare and clinical and biological research,” the solicitation document stated, according to the report.

NIH Information Technology Acquisition and Assessment Center will administer CIO-CS for the selected vendors, which comprise seven original equipment manufacturers and 58 value-added resellers, the report said.

O’Connell notes that the contract will offer on-premises and cloud-based IT commodities and is part of the e-GOS online acquisition management system.

Federal News Radio’s list of the 65 vendors on NIH’s CIO-CS contract is available here.
