Oct 22 : Sphere3 Integration with Rauland Improves Patient Needs and Safety

getwellnetwork

New interface saves time by providing real-time, staff-to-patient assignment information among systems revealing actionable information at the point-of-care thru mobile dashboards.

A new staff assignment integration between the Rauland Responder® nurse call solution and Sphere3® clinical software Aperum® allows providers to create individual dashboards with real-time metrics for each of their current patient assignments.

The software interface – ResponderSync™ – integrates staff assignment information across multiple hospital systems to sync electronic medical record (EMR) applications, medical devices, RTLS locating systems and mobile phones with staff assignments. By integrating the nurse call staff assignment function across the systems, ResponderSync helps hospital staff to deliver quality care and balance the on-duty staff patient loads.

ResponderSync is part of Rauland’s Responder nurse call system, an advanced communication solution that enhances overall communication and workflow within a hospital – patient-to-staff, and staff-to-staff.

“Rauland and Sphere3 have joined forces to tackle real issues for hospital administration. The ResponderSync and Aperum® integration allows administrators to take actions specifically targeting improvement related to hospital-acquired events and patient satisfaction,” says Kourtney Govro, CEO of Sphere3®. “No longer will administrators have to wait for months to determine if decisions created improvement. ResponderSync allows data to flow rapidly into Aperum®, and our advanced algorithms and information visualization enables more pertinent, timely caregiver and patient engagement.” Govro adds, “When an unintended event occurs, Aperum® provides a reliable deconstruction of events – communication paths and human response — for immediate coaching of personnel and longer-term adjustments in unit activity.”

“ResponderSync revolutionizes the way nurses work and the way nursing teams work together,” said Maureen Pajerski, Rauland’s VP of Marketing and Sales. “Nothing happens in the nursing environment until the patient assignment is made. ResponderSync maximizes the time and skills of the nursing teams on-duty and makes the most of electronic medical records by sharing information between systems. Responder does this by managing nurses’ time, balancing workloads, allowing for adjustable shifts, and providing a single source of truth.”

Sphere3®
Sphere3® products and services offer insight into actual patient need requests and caregiver capacity to help hospitals analyze the reliability of systems and better meet their needs. Sphere3 products and tools dissect this cascade of data associated with these requests and responses, escalations, and time frames. Over time, the organization can better manage the balance of demand-supply challenges and recurring patterns related to adverse events, using actual caregiver feedback compared to threaded alarm data. www.sphere3consulting.com.
