Oct 25: The Rothman Institute Selects White Plume for ICD-10 Charge Capture

clinical decision

The Rothman Institute, a practice internationally recognized for excellence in Orthopaedic science and technology, has selected White Plume’sePASS product suite to automate the charge capture process and help prepare their 150 provider practice for ICD-10.

The leaders at Rothman sought out a solution that would protect physician productivity while further enhancing the efficiency and accuracy of the revenue cycle.   Rothman has deployed White Plume’sAccelaCAPTUREsolution in its 23 practice locations where providers have access to the intelligent, electronic encounter form directly within their existing EHR system. Debbie Santilli, Business Services Manager, has played a key role in ICD-10 readiness at Rothman.  Santilli says, “We recognize that the conversion to ICD-10 is going to be a challenge; however, White Plume has given us the tools to help our physicians and staff be prepared and ready to face it!”

White Plume’s front-end resolution engine, AccelaSMART, is utilized in Rothman’s Central Business Office to help ensure accuracy of the charge data collected and assist in the creation of a closed loop denial prevention process before charges are automatically posted to their practice management system.

Gina Pino, Director of Business Services at Rothman, led the charge in the selection of White Plume and has been an instrumental leader in the practice wide roll-out.  In speaking about the impact of White Plume on practice operations, Pino says, “Implementation of White Plume has been easy with little intrusion in the physician’s schedule.  The front desk staff love the ease of end of day batching and elimination of paper scanning.”

The initial stages of the implementation have been such a success, that Rothman now has plans to deployWhite Plume’s mobile charge capture solution, AccelaMOBILE, to aid in the surgical charge capture process.  This will be their final step towards ICD-10 readiness and most importantly ensure that their physicians will not see a decrease in productivity come October 1, 2014.  Pino says, “White Plume has helped alleviate our anxiety about the impending transition to ICD-10.  The support we have received from White Plume has been phenomenal and we are thrilled with the partnership!”

White Plume has well over a decade of experience in working with many of the country’s premier Orthopaedic practices and is excited about this partnership with The Rothman Institute.    Matthew Menendez, VP of Sales and Marketing, said, “We are proud to partner with the Rothman Institute for the conversion to ICD-10.  We will focus on protecting their physicians’ productivity, and The Rothman Institute can remain focused on providing world class orthopaedic care.”
