Oct 30 : ChartRequest Makes EMR Transfer a Reality

hospital

ChartRequest, formally 5 O’Clock Records, provides a best-in-class release of information solution for healthcare providers looking to facilitate the electronic transfer of health information. In business since 2012, the cloud-based solution has expanded into 25 states and received more than 30,000 records requests from insurance companies, patients, and other healthcare providers.

ChartRequest is refocusing efforts on the company’s cloud-based release-of-information solution. The web application allows healthcare providers to electronically receive and release information requests from health and payment information to insurance companies, patients, and other healthcare providers. “We thought it only fitting that our name reflect our focus,” explains Carly Stockdale, CEO, about the company’s transition from the name 5 O’Clock Records to ChartRequest.

The name change comes at a time of marked growth for the company. In the last 2 years, ChartRequest has received over 30,000 record requests for providers of all sizes across the country. As many clinics struggle to keep abreast of continuity of care and meaningful use guidelines, ChartRequest’s solution offers a streamlined, compliant workflow and secure, electronic release for all health information transfers.

“Our customers use our solution for a diverse set of critical release of information needs,” explains Carly Stockdale, CEO of ChartRequest. Large provider groups leverage the ChartRequest solution to limit the increased risk of exposure inherent to shared-information spaces. Automated billing and collections boost the bottom line of health information management (HIM) departments. “What most impressed me after using ChartRequest is that we’ve now redeployed two of our processing staff members and cut our [release of information] turnaround from two weeks to two days,” said Lori Trainor from DermOne Dermatology, who recently spoke of the benefits ChartRequest presented to their group, ”[With ChartRequest] we automatically log all authorizations for payer audits and send referred records faster. We couldn’t be happier.”

Hospitals manage revenue cycle through ChartRequest’s secure electronic transfer. HIM departments adjust claims quickly and can exchange information same-day within and outside the post-acute care network to decreases accounts receivable.

Small practices use ChartRequest to automate mandatory disclosure documentation and collections with requesters. “Since using ChartRequest our practice doesn’t wait for unpaid invoices. We made an additional $1,200 in the first month, and calls to the office went down from over 7 per day to 2 per week. Normally it is a painful process, but now our office doesn’t need to deal with the details,” explained Shana Reyes of Morristown Medical Group in New Jersey.

“This renewed focus comes at a defining moment for our company,” said Stockdale, “release of information is more central to healthcare delivery than ever before. Electronic health information no longer allows healthcare facilities to silo off or outsource information management and disclosure. The modern, enterprise medical records department is responsible for maintaining best practice release of information workflows and documentation. We are excited to be offering our best-in-class solution under the ChartRequest brand.”
