OnlyBoth Inc. Launches New Hospital Benchmarking Engine

OnlyBoth Inc. has launched a new, innovative benchmarking engine at BenchMine.com that provides objective, data-based comparisons of U.S. hospital performance. The Artificial Intelligence (AI)-based technology makes use of 130 consumer-friendly data attributes on 4,797 hospitals from CMS Hospital Compare to help the community evaluate hospitals and compare them to others nearby and nationally.

“We’re excited to bring our benchmarking technology to the hospital environment where so much quality and performance data has been achieved, but where uncovering noteworthy comparisons remains difficult,” said Raul Valdes-Perez, PhD, CEO and co-founder of OnlyBoth Inc. “We present unbiased information in a simple way so patients, their families, and the community can quickly and easily see how a hospital stands out.”

Enhanced with geolocation information, BenchMine leverages the Centers for Medicare & Medicaid Services data on patient experience, safety, mortality, readmissions, and timely and effective care so users can evaluate hospital performance in the context of others and make informed decisions about upcoming procedures and treatments. For every hospital, information is clearly stated regarding how well it’s doing, where it could improve, what’s changed over time, and how it is – or not – best in class.

Replacing a cumbersome manual research process, OnlyBoth AI-enabled benchmarking technology is the first innovation in the field of comparative analytics in many years. Based on years of combined academic research and user-centric web services expertise, the novel technology can explore a much larger space of possibilities than people can, uncovering comprehensive comparative performance insights. OnlyBoth engines carry out a massive search for all possible peer groups – beyond the usual approach of state, national, or a pre-defined group – identifying where a hospital stands out.

“By better understanding a hospital’s strengths and weaknesses through context-rich language, users can have informed discussions with their physicians about their own care,” said Valdes-Perez. “In this era of consumer-driven healthcare, OnlyBoth has identified the need to provide clear and concise information for patients so they can be proactive about having more successful hospital experiences. Healthcare is transforming, and we’re excited to be a part of the commitment to transparency, which has long been advocated by leaders in the field, since transparency drives improvement.”

Earlier this year, the company launched two engines focused on nursing home and home health agency performance for improved transparency in healthcare. OnlyBoth plans to expand its revolutionary benchmarking approach to other healthcare sectors, such as long-term care, dialysis facilities, and hospice agencies.
