PEPID Achieves Meaningful Use Stage 2 Certification

pepid achieves

PEPID has announced its leading drug interaction checker and drug allergy checker are now certified to help eligible hospitals and providers achieve the Stage 2 meaningful use measures under the American Reinvestment and Recovery Act (ARRA).

When employed as a module within any electronic health record system (EHR), PEPID’s drug interaction checker can cross reference any combination of a patient’s medications and alternative medicines and alert the provider if a potential interaction exists, promoting patient safety. PEPID’s drug-allergy checker cross references a patient’s allergies, and can also alert the provider if a potential sensitivity exists.

“PEPID is proud to achieve this certification so that we can continue to help hospitals and providers meet meaningful use criteria in electronic medical records,” says John Wagner, PEPID president. “This certification will help our customers to get the most out of their healthcare technology investments.”

Electronic Health Record (EHR) module (version 1.0.3.71) — which includes PEPID’s drug interaction checker and drug allergy checker — is 2014 Edition-compliant and was certified as EHR Module (certification numbers IG-2967-13-0013 and IG-2967-13-0015). The certification and testing was conducted by InfoGard, an ONC-ACB, in accordance with the applicable certification criteria adopted by the Secretary of Health and Human Services.

PEPID’s Electronic Health Record modular certification, confirmed for both ambulatory and inpatient settings, satisfies the 2014 criteria and supports the Stage 2 meaningful use measures to qualify eligible providers and hospitals under the American Reinvestment and Recovery Act (ARRA).

PEPID certifications include:

  • Section 170.314(a)(2) – drug-allergy, drug-allergy interaction checks
  • Section 170.314(g)(3) – safety-enhanced design

Those attending the HIMSS Annual Conference April 12-15, 2015, in Chicago are encouraged to stop by PEPID booth #3144 to see a demonstration.

The PEPID EHR Module is 2014 Edition compliant and has been certified by an ONC-ACB in accordance with the applicable certification criteria adopted by the Secretary of Health and Human Services. This certification does not represent an endorsement by the U.S. Department of Health and Human Services or guarantee the receipt of incentive payments. To view the certifications, click here.
