Texas Health Presbyterian Hospital Plano recently received the Stage 7 Award, the premier award for electronic health record adoption.
Stage 7 represents the highest level on the Electronic Medical Record Adoption Model, which is used to track patient progress at hospitals across the country.
Healthcare Information and Management Systems Society, the largest health information technology association in the nation, created the Stage 7 award in 2009. It recognizes hospitals where paper charts are no longer used to track patient care in the effort to improve performance, quality of care and patient safety through the use of electronic records.
