Practice Fusion is the Market Share Leader for Solo and Small Clinician Practices

Survey results from AmericanEHR, a partner of the American College of Physicians, confirms that Practice Fusion is the leader for solo and 1-3 provider practices

San Francisco, CA – June 18, 2015 – Practice Fusion, the nation’s largest cloud-based electronic health record (EHR) platform, has been ranked by AmericanEHR, a partner of the American College of Physicians, as the market share leader among EHR providers for solo and 1-3 provider practices. With over 112,000 monthly active health care professionals, Practice Fusion continues to leverage its provider and patient solutions to be the dominant leader in the national EHR market.

Click to Tweet: Practice Fusion is the Market Share Leader for Solo and 1-3 Clinician Practices

Key Facts about the AmericanEHR Study:

  • For solo providers, Practice Fusion has 40% more market share than the next largest competitor in the market, eClinicalWorks.
  • For 1-3 clinician offices, Practice Fusion has 25% more market share than the next largest competitor in the market, eClinicalWorks.
  • AmericanEHR Partners survey concludes that “Practice Fusion is the dominant product” for 1-3 clinician practices.
  • According to the American Medical Association, nearly 60 percent of physicians work in practices of 10 providers or less and that over 53 percent of physicians are self-employed.

Collected from a sampling of 1,366 physicians, physician assistants, and nurse practitioners, AmericanEHR reports that “Practice Fusion is the dominant product” for 1-3 clinician practices. The dominance of Practice Fusion’s market share is substantial considering that, according to the American Medical Association, nearly 60 percent of physicians work in practices of 10 providers or less and that over 53 percent of physicians are self-employed.

For the majority of these practices, the average upfront cost of implementing an EHR is $33,000 per provider, plus an on-going fee of $4,000 yearly – making an EHR financially unfeasible. For these practices who are looking to implement an EHR, but that do not have the financial resources to purchase a costly solution, Practice Fusion fills this critical void by providing a completely free, Meaningful Use certified EHR.
“Practice Fusion has the largest provider community with one of the most robust EHR platforms by offering a free, mobile platform with the ability to instantly connect to over 70,000 pharmacies and over 550 labs and imaging partners,” said Ryan Howard, Practice Fusion, Founder and CEO. “This report further shows that Practice Fusion is the de facto solution for solo and 1-3 clinician practices.”
