PrescribeWellness & ScopiaRx Announce Strategic Partnership

icd-10 compliance deadline

PrescribeWellness, the cloud-based services company whose mission is to empower the pharmacist’s ability to provide preventive healthcare services in their community announced a strategic partnership with ScopiaRx, the cloud-based services company that identifies drug-related risks in patients taking multiple medications.

“We are thrilled to partner with PrescribeWellness,” said Dr. Jeffrey Huth, President and Founder of ScopiaRx. “52 million Americans take three or more medications each day, and the adverse consequences of this polypharmacy are staggering. Two million people suffer complications from side effects each year. We are excited to focus on this strategic relationship and the highly meaningful value our combined services can provide to potentially millions of patients across the country.”

PrescribeWellness offers innovative technological solutions designed to elevate the community pharmacist’s role in providing preventative healthcare services. Their software makes it easier for pharmacies to build a customer loyalty and provide extended services such as appointment-based medication delivery. PrescribeWellness solutions improve a patient’s medication adherence and the pharmacy’s Star Ratings.

“We are moving at a pace that exceeds our expectations to serve 8,000 community pharmacies by the end of 2015,” shared Al Babbington, President and Co-Founder of PrescribeWellness. “We are not deviating from our focus of serving our new and existing clients, but their margins are getting squeezed faster than the models that are being created to compensate them differently for healthier outcomes of their patients. We must act now and accelerate our efforts to create additional revenue streams for our clients. Our partnership with ScopiaRx will allow us to do just that.”

About PrescribeWellness

PrescribeWellness proprietary cloud-based platform is designed to educate and inspire better health. The platform empowers pharmacies and other healthcare professionals to provide more effective, preventive healthcare services, which improve medication adherence, chronic disease management, transitional care and population health. About ScopiaRx

ScopiaRx is a cloud-based analytics service that identifies drug-related risks when taking multiple medications. Using its own proprietary database and algorithm, the ScopiaRx service takes a fraction of a second to assess a patient’s clinical diagnoses, complex medication regimen, and thousands of related FDA case reports. The concise summaries alert clinicians when multiple medications, often 3 or more, can all contribute to a serious adverse event. Whether applied to a large population, or to an individual patient in a chronic disease management program, the service guides medication management for patients taking 3, 10, even 15 medications.
