QPID Health Integrates With Epic EHR at Partners Healthcare

market expected

QPID Health, which helps hospitals and medical groups achieve their quality goals by generating actionable patient facts from EHR has signed an expanded enteprise-wide software and services agreement with Partners HealthCare. Over the next two years, QPID Health will integrate with Partner’s Epic-based EHR system including legacy systems across all 10 of its hospitals and associated physician organizations.

QPID Health’s clinical reasoning software combines advanced natural language processing (NLP), clinical logic, and machine learning to generate patient facts from information found anywhere and in any format in longitudinal health records (including structured data fields and narrative notes). In just the past three years the software has analyzed 318 million clinical documents for 1.6 million unique patients.

“Effectively using patient data for quality reporting and optimal patient outcomes is increasingly important as we move towards value-based care. QPID Health software, which we are now deploying to all of our hospitals, will help to ensure appropriate use of high-cost, high-volume surgical procedures. This agreement will help provide our physicians with the specific patient information that they need to attest to use of evidence-based guidelines. Not only is this the right thing to do for patients, it also reduces costs where we share risk with government and commercial payers, ” said Timothy Ferris, MD, Vice President of Population Health.

Massachusetts General Hospital began using the first generation of QPID software nearly 10 years ago. Partners has realized tremendous return on investment over the years from eliminating unnecessary cancellations, protecting patient safety, improved utilization management, and earning CMS bonuses and avoiding penalties.
