Rideout Regional Medical Center Selects Allen E3 Patient Engagement Solutions

Why You Need an Integrated PM System

Allen Technologies, the leader in interactive patient engagement solutions for nearly 40 years, announced today that Rideout Regional Medical Center has selected Allen’s next-generation E3 Patient Engagement Solutions for its new six-story 220,000-square-foot facility as well as the hospital’s existing tower.

Allen’s flexible platform, deployed on smart televisions in patient rooms, will enable the hospital to enhance patients’ experience and outcomes, and achieve operational efficiencies through innovative integrations with key hospital systems. Allen’s solutions deliver health education customized to each patient’s diagnosis, give patients access to room comfort controls and services, and offer patients a wide array of entertainment options.

“Rideout Regional Medical Center’s new acute and critical care rooms were designed to enhance the patient experience by emphasizing comfort, safety and quality of care, and the Allen interactive patient system fits ideally into that vision,” said Jerry Folsom, Allen president and CEO. “Through in-room flat-screen TVs, patients will truly be able to engage in their care, enjoy home-like entertainment in a comfortable setting and easily access hospital services and room controls.”

Allen’s integration with the hospital’s McKesson health record platform (EHR) enables nurses to assign patient educational videos directly from within the patient’s EHR. Once the patient watches the videos, that action is documented back to the patient record, and nurses can reinforce the information at the bedside.

In addition, Rideout’s interactive system features Allen’s ambient noise reduction modules. “Research is clear that ambient noise interferes with the healing process and can potentially extend hospitalization,” said Folsom. “Offering patients ambient noise reduction tools is just one example of how Rideout Regional Medical Center is using innovative technology to transform the patient experience and achieve better patient outcomes.”

Rideout Health is an independent, non-profit, community-based healthcare organization that operates Rideout Memorial Hospital, Fremont Medical Center, Rideout Cancer Center and other medical facilities around the Yuba-Sutter region in California’s Sacramento Valley.
