Samsung Electronics Completes Acquisition of Xealth

As stated in the announcement, Xealth will retain its current brand and continue to be led by its existing leadership team.

Samsung Electronics has officially completed its acquisition of Xealth, a U.S.-based digital health prescription platform that allows healthcare providers to prescribe, deliver, and track digital health tools directly through electronic health records (EHR). The acquisition was initially announced in July.

Per the announcement, Xealth will continue to operate under its existing brand, with its current leadership team remaining in place.

Xealth’s technology integrates digital health solutions into clinical workflows, aiming to improve patient care and enhance operational efficiency across healthcare systems.

Its platform offers a range of digital tools—including multimedia patient education, digital clinical assessments, remote patient monitoring programs, and virtual care referrals—designed to support patients throughout the continuum of care: before, during, and after their medical visits.

Integration with Electronic Health Records and Clinical Processes
Xealth’s Digital Care SMART on FHIR application enables physicians and care teams to prescribe and track digital health tools directly within the electronic health record (EHR). The integration provides clinical decision support by aligning patients with appropriate digital programs and automatically enrolling them when relevant.

Available through EHR app marketplaces, the app can be configured to launch seamlessly within a provider’s charting workflow, offering easy and efficient access for clinicians. By leveraging data from the EHR, Xealth helps streamline the delivery of digital care and enhances engagement between care teams and patients.

“Samsung and the Xealth team will collaborate with health systems, consumers, and digital health partners to build a healthcare ecosystem focused on improving outcomes for all,” said Dr. Hon Pak, Senior Vice President and Head of the Digital Health Team, Mobile eXperience Business at Samsung Electronics.

Xealth CEO and co-founder Mike McSherry added, “Samsung’s support will drive our mission forward, enabling a level of connected care that brings new context to the patient experience. Together, we’ll build a stronger link between home health monitoring and clinical decision-making—anchored in provider workflows and the patient-provider relationship.”

The acquisition aligns with Samsung’s broader push into healthcare technology. In recent years, Samsung has partnered with South Korean AI companies Lunit and VUNO to integrate AI-powered diagnostic tools into its advanced X-ray and radiography systems, now in use across the U.S., Canada, and Europe.

Earlier this year, Xealth secured a strategic investment from Morningside Ventures to enhance how health systems manage and deploy digital health formularies. The platform has also been adopted by the Froedtert & Medical College of Wisconsin (MCW) health network to support diabetes care through clinical nutrition programs delivered via its digital interface.
