Sept 23: Epic Electronic Medical Record Go-Live with Providence Health & Services

epic electronic medical record

Essia Health, the premier provider of electronic medical record (EMR) go-live support services and specially trained medical scribes, today announced it has completed its 25th hospital EMR go-live with Providence Health & Services, the not-for-profit Catholic health care system. Providence Saint Joseph Medical Center in Burbank, California, is the latest hospital to implement the Epic EMR software as part of a system-wide rollout.

Essia Health began working with Providence in 2012 and supplements an internal team for each go-live with Essia Health’s team of onsite managers and EMR specialists. Essia Health’s team conducts EMR interface customization labs and one-on-one physician optimization workshops for two weeks before the go-live and then provides help center triage assistance and at-the-elbow physician support during go-live and up to six weeks after.

“Our long-standing relationship with health systems like Providence is a testament to our ability to enable providers to simultaneously focus on patients and harness the fullest potential of EMR technologies,” said Matthew Kirchner, president and chief executive officer, Essia Health. “Our EMR specialists play a key role not just at go-live, but also as healthcare providers shift their focus to optimizing the EMR and rolling out technology upgrades.”

Essia Health’s first Epic go-live with the health care system was at Providence Alaska Medical Center in Anchorage. Since that time, Essia Health has provided go-live support throughout the Providence Health & Services system. In addition to the 25 hospitals, Essia Health has partnered with Providence to support EMR go-lives at more than 130 clinics and seven affiliated community hospitals in six states.

Essia Health has successfully partnered with organizations like Providence Health & Services to complete more than 100 hospital EMR go-lives. The company’s experienced EMR implementation team manages EMR go-live trainings, customization labs, command center operations and at-the-elbow support for physicians and care teams. The team has supported go-lives for all major EMR systems, including Epic, Cerner and McKesson.
