Seqster Makes Caregiving Easier With Launch of Caregiver View at Health 2.0

Seqster, the leading consumer-centric health data management platform empowering employees, members, or patients to collect, own and share all of their health data, today announced the launch of its Caregiver View feature.  Caregiver View will be demonstrated at the 12th Annual Health 2.0 Conference taking place in Santa Clara, California this week. This new feature makes it easy for caregivers to sign up, aggregate, and manage all of their loved ones’ electronic health records (EHR) as well as any genetic or wearable data and see them all in one place.

Seqster health data management platform provides homecare and consumer health companies:

  • HIPAA and HITRUST-compliant privacy-preserving technology
  • Nationwide access to a majority of health systems and providers with the ability to stitch together disparate health data in a longitudinal timeline
  • Full integration with continuous data from wearable and fitness devices such as the new Apple Watch Series 4 and Fitbit
  • Direct access to DNA results from consumer genomic & clinical diagnostic labs including 23andMe, Ancestry.com, Invitae, and Color Genomics
  • Caregivers can instantly collect, view, and share health data for loved ones

“While working closely with the staff and families of the Glenner Alzheimer’s centers we found that the family caregivers are at the center of a complex web of medical, family, service and social interactions,” said Ardy Arianpour, CEO and co-founder, Seqster. “Navigating these networks while providing care can be one of the most challenging aspects of family caregiving, and the stress can be overwhelming. Making it easier for the family caregiver to not only support their effort, but also their own health and well-being with Seqster and our unique Caregiver View is extremely rewarding.”

“Alzheimer’s dementia is a brutal disease that not only robs individuals of their memory, but it also robs families of their loved ones,” said Scott Tarde, CEO of George G. Glenner Alzheimer’s Family Centers. “Our vision in partnering with Seqster has always been to reduce the burden of care on the primary caregiver by using Seqster’s unique ability to seamlessly pull together health data from multiple healthcare providers so that caregivers could monitor, manage, engage and communicate the health of their loved ones in real time. Seqster worked with our Alzheimer’s Disease families and witnessed firsthand how tough it is to be the caregiver. The difficulty of caring for someone else is compounded when you have your own significant health issues to monitor and treatments to do throughout the day. Seqster took that experience and created an easy and intuitive platform to enable caregivers to see all of their health data and the health data of their loved ones in one place. This is big.”

The National Alliance for Caregiving and AARP state in their 2015 report that there are approximately 43.5 million caregivers providing unpaid care to an adult or child in the US. Of those, more than 6.1 million caregivers care for 2 or more adults. The economic value of this unpaid caregiving exceeds $470 billion with females shouldering a majority of the care spending an average of 21.9 hours per weeks providing care.
