SHIFT Continues Evolving Member Experience Through New Partnerships

Athletico and Rush Health join local startup’s innovative pursuit of healthcare

SHIFT, a new fully integrated healthcare facility in Chicago, is continuing to enhance the experience its members can expect through new partnerships with local Chicago healthcare providers. Members who join the startup gain access to a groundbreaking approach to healthcare, with fully integrated medical, coaching, fitness, nutrition, and recovery services offered under one roof. SHIFT’s new partnerships with Athletico Physical Therapy and Rush University Medical Center will bolster these offerings.

“Our purpose is to help people become the healthiest they can possibly be,” said Dr. Ari Levy, founder and CEO of SHIFT. “We do this through coordinated, integrated, and personalized care that leverages the right resources for the individual, so when they put in the effort, they see the best possible outcomes. It is important to create the right environment, ensuring proper support for our members. Our strategic partnerships with Athletico and Rush University Medical Center support in-house resources that help our members improve their ability to process stress, strengthen their bodies and minds, and empower them to stay health-conscious more than ever before.”

Recovery is a crucial factor for overall health and performance, and a key differentiator of SHIFT’s approach to “Real Health,” which the company defines as living healthier, happier, and more productively. Athletico Physical Therapy’s approach to physical therapy complements SHIFT’s existing recovery and healing services, which include active recovery, muscle-specific tissue work and yoga. Members who require physical therapy as part of their “Real Health” journey will receive a dedicated recovery specialist provided by the Athletico Physical Therapy network. The recovery specialist will address members’ needs on an individual basis and provide a coordinated care plan with input from SHIFT coaches, physicians, and trainers.

“We’ve been healing people for more than 25 years while assisting patients of all fitness levels with their rehabilitation efforts,” said Mark Kaufman, founder and president of Athletico Physical Therapy. “SHIFT’s approach to care is the next evolution of healthcare, and we’re thrilled to partner with other experts and do our part to support people’s journeys to achieve ‘Real Health’ and real recovery.”

Fully integrated care requires seamless communication between experts, staff, and members. SHIFT’s new partnership with Rush University Medical Center provides the company with access to a state-of-the-art electronic medical records system, amplifying SHIFT’s promise of better, coordinated care. Even with this partnership, SHIFT will remain institution-agnostic, pledging to connect its members with the best service providers in support of their health goals.

“We are excited about the opportunity to partner with SHIFT as it transforms the model of care,” said Brent Estes, senior vice president at Rush University Medical Center. “SHIFT’s innovative approach to healthcare will help patients achieve their lifelong health goals through holistic and integrated programs.”

“The positive energy within our facility and the excitement of our members is exhilarating and reinforces the mission we set out to achieve,” said Dr. Levy. “We’re changing how people think about healthcare, but we’ve just begun to scratch the surface on transforming what it means to achieve ‘Real Health.’ As we continue to evolve, we’ll continue to leverage the right partnerships and resources that will help provide our members with the tools necessary to live happier, healthier, and more productively.”
