Smartlink Health Solutions Welcomes Mark Dunnagan as VP of Health Informatics

informatics

CARY, N.C., Dec. 18, 2018 /PRNewswire/ — Smartlink Health Solutions, a pioneer in bidirectional health data exchange via front-end integration, announced today that Mark Dunnagan has joined its leadership team as Vice President of Health Informatics. Mr. Dunnagan will be responsible for product management, software implementation and customer success.

Mr. Dunnagan brings more than 25 years of software product development and implementation experience. Prior to joining Smartlink Health, Mr. Dunnagan served as Chief Architect of NC HealthConnex, one of the largest health information exchanges in the nation. He also served as Chief Technology Officer of a local healthcare and government services company and was a director at Oracle Corporation in the healthcare solutions division.

“Mark will play a vital role at Smartlink as we rapidly scale our implementation team for the Smartlink Data Connector (SDC) solution,” says Siu Tong, CEO of Smartlink Health. “I’m confident that under Mark’s leadership, our SDC implementations will far exceed the expectations of our customers.”

Launched earlier this year, Smartlink Data Connector (SDC) evolved out of 25 years and $50 million of investment to develop a universal and efficient approach to integrating thousands of complex systems in other industries. SDC leverages the user interface for data sharing initiatives that would traditionally require an HL7 interface, providing speed to data at a fraction of the cost. SDC has already gained strong traction with accountable care organizations, clinically integrated networks, health information exchanges, and independent labs.

“I believe SDC is the answer to what’s missing with modern methods for achieving data liquidity. Meaningful Use and the standards that came in its wake moved the market for sure, but there are many provider and patient populations that have been left behind,” says Mr. Dunnagan.  “With the transition to value-based care, it is increasingly important to get to data that traditional integration strategies simply cannot.  SDC is the hammer to hit the nails I’ve had to leave untouched through 25 years in this space; finally, there’s a real opportunity to solve the last mile of connectivity and interoperability in healthcare.”

About Smartlink Health Solutions

In addition, Smartlink provides a single platform that enables physicians to leverage Medicare’s annual wellness, behavioral health and care management programs as a strategic bridge in the journey from fee-for-service to value-based reimbursement. The secure platform seamlessly interfaces with EMRs and can be used alone or in combination with our experienced care management services team. For more information, visit SmartlinkHealth.com.
