Suki launches nursing consortium to support frontline nurses amid staffing crisis

EMR Industry

The Healthcare AI Leader to Develop and Support Technology Solutions for Nurses, Partnering with AvaSure as Its Latest Platform Collaborator

REDWOOD CITY, Calif.–(BUSINESS WIRE)–Suki, a leader in healthcare artificial intelligence (AI), today announced a new initiative addressing the administrative burdens faced by nurses nationwide, including the launch of its first nursing consortium with top health systems. Members of the consortium will collaborate to develop “Suki for Nurses,” a solution designed to integrate with major electronic health records (EHRs) such as Epic, MEDITECH, and Oracle Health. This tool will be customized to nurses’ unique workflows, helping to simplify daily tasks and boost efficiency. Additionally, Suki revealed a partnership with AvaSure, a leader in AI-driven virtual care, which will incorporate Suki’s ambient documentation technology into its offerings.

The consortium unites healthcare leaders from diverse EHR environments, including McLeod Health (Epic), rural providers Citizens Memorial and Boone Health (MEDITECH), and Fisher-Titus (Oracle Health), with more partners expected to join. This collaboration highlights Suki’s dedication to improving clinician well-being across the healthcare system. By partnering with organizations spanning various care settings and technology platforms, Suki aims to create solutions that address the wide-ranging needs of the healthcare landscape—not just isolated systems or workflows. This approach is especially vital as over half of U.S. healthcare workers plan to seek new roles next year, with more than one in four nurses citing burnout and staffing shortages as key factors.

To address this growing crisis, Suki will leverage insights from its consortium partners to enhance its AI technology, focusing on reducing the most time-consuming administrative tasks for nurses. The initial solutions will support commonly used forms and flowsheets, such as patient assessments and admission and intake forms, helping nurses save valuable time and concentrate more on patient care.

“By collaborating with innovative health systems nationwide, we gain invaluable insights from diverse healthcare settings—from large networks to rural hospitals to solution providers. Each partner offers a unique perspective on nursing workflows, allowing Suki to deliver scalable and fast AI solutions that encourage widespread adoption,” said Punit Soni, CEO and Founder of Suki. “Our mission has always been to reduce administrative burdens and restore joy to medicine. Extending this commitment to nurses means enabling them to spend less time on documentation and more time on what truly matters.”

“Our partnership with Suki has already significantly eased the administrative workload for our providers, and we’re thrilled to collaborate with other leading health systems to develop solutions for nurses,” said Ashley Huggins, MSN, RN, Director of IT Clinical Informatics at McLeod Health. “AI has transformed healthcare by helping providers be more present with their patients. Through this consortium, we aim to bring this technology to nurses—a vital part of the care team—with the goal of improving care quality and building a more efficient, sustainable healthcare system.”

Suki is a leading AI platform in healthcare, powering advanced AI features across telehealth, EHRs, care management, revenue cycle management, nursing, and more. Its newest partner, AvaSure, is integrating Suki’s ambient documentation technology to revolutionize care delivery nationwide. In the first phase, nurses and physicians using AvaSure will be able to complete visit documentation and admission or discharge forms hands-free with Suki. The second phase will enable nurses to document at the bedside without disruption, reducing administrative burdens, streamlining workflows, and improving experiences for both patients and caregivers. With AvaSure supporting over 1,100 hospitals across the U.S., this partnership offers immediate scale and impact.

“We are dedicated to delivering measurable outcomes for health systems—enhancing patient safety, easing workforce strain, and expanding care access. Partnering with Suki marks a major step toward the ‘Smart Room of the Future,’ combining ambient documentation with virtual care to transform healthcare delivery,” said Jacob Hansen, Chief Product and Technology Officer at AvaSure. “When caregivers thrive, the entire healthcare experience improves. We’re proud to be part of this effort to bring innovative solutions to the industry.”

Currently, Suki’s AI assistant supports clinicians across a wide range of workflows—including ambient documentation, coding, and providing instant insights to support informed decisions. It is the most versatile AI solution for clinicians, seamlessly integrating with all major EHR systems and accessible across iOS, Android, Web, and as a Chrome extension. By extending its expertise to nursing, Suki is set to redefine the daily work experience for this essential group, enabling them to focus more on what matters most: patient care.
