Texas-Based HASA Taps RosettaHealth to Boost Access and Sharing of HIE Patient Data

RosettaHealth’s unique platform enables each healthcare facility to automatically query for patient data across all other facilities in the HIE

RosettaHealth, a fully-certified, secure, and cloud based SaaS (Software as a Service) interoperability platform, today announced that HASA, the non-profit, community Health Information Exchange (HIE) for North, South and West Texas, is now using the RosettaHealth platform. The partnership will enhance exchange of patient health records to better allow healthcare providers in HASA’s network to have automated access to clinical patient information in real-time through their electronic health record.

HASA is connecting health care practices and hospital systems electronically in a way that helps providers meet MACRA and Meaningful Use requirements while facilitating the secure exchange of patient data.

The uniqueness of the RosettaHealth platform in combination with HASA’s IMAT system is that it enables each healthcare facility to automatically query for patient data across all other facilities in the HIE. This type of automated federated data query improves on other methods that use portals and require physicians to visit a website and check for new information. This means providers have access to the latest information in real time with minimal effort.

“The RosettaHealth platform allows HASA to best support the organization’s overall mission of ensuring that patient information can flow without friction among providers’ electronic health record systems, based on where the patient is receiving care said Philip Beckett, Chief Information Officer at HASA. “Ultimately, this automated exchange allows healthcare providers to access the right clinical data in a timely fashion, and helps ensure providers have a patient’s complete record available at the point of care.”

The cloud-based RosettaHealth platform enables the efficient, seamless, and secure transportation of data and connects the ecosystem of healthcare for EHRs, hospitals, Health Information Exchanges (HIEs), mobile health apps, and analytics vendors.

“HASA pushes the envelope of health information exchange — providing real-time, accurate information with no effort from the physician makes the dream of clinical decision support an accessible reality,” said Buff Colchagoff, CEO of RosettaHealth. “We are excited about helping this transformational organization to further its mission and capabilities.”

In addition to the regional federated query capabilities, the RosettaHealth team is helping HASA expand this functionality nationwide, by integrating with the Sequoia Project’s eHealth Exchange which allows HASA to exchange data with the DoD and the VA.

The RosettaHealth Platform moves more than 5 million health records a month, and enables organizations to exchange healthcare information safely, securely, and efficiently based on legislated and industry accepted interoperability standards.

The RosettaHealth team originally worked closely with the Office of the National Coordinator (ONC) defining and deploying standards, creating reference implementations, and establishing the fabric of interoperability that is expanding across the industry today.
