The Current State of Small Business in Oregon

As the number of available workers declines, it becomes increasingly difficult for small businesses to find qualified staff, which is having a significant effect on both the economy at large and on these smaller establishments. As more people are encouraged to become self-employed or pursue freelance work, the importance of finding resources for this type of work also increases. These resources can come in many forms, including freelancers, coworking spaces, trade schools, and apprenticeships.

Current Events in Business
In the last few years, marijuana has been legalized in many states across America, including Oregon. As a result, more and more people are opening marijuana dispensaries to meet the growing demand for this product. This opportunity has a lot of upside potential but also a very high opportunity cost for those who would want to open it in their state. Court reporters bend are available to offer legal assistance.

Licensed cannabis dispensary owners in Oregon are becoming frustrated by Illegal operations in the area. There are many legal growers that have been suffering due to illegal drug sales nearby. They have testified before the Legislature about the illegal sites which have led away many farm workers during a labor shortage. It has caused an increase in crime including homicides and burglaries.

Qualified Workers
Many industries in Oregon are experiencing a labor shortage. This is due to the state of the economy and the shrinking workforce. The labor shortage is problematic for many companies because of the high unemployment rate, which makes it difficult to hire qualified workers. Businesses are having trouble attracting qualified workers to fill vacant positions, which means there is increased competition for the few workers available

Finding qualified employees in a labor shortage can be difficult, but it’s not impossible. To compete, many companies are offering increased benefits and higher salaries when possible. Companies can recruit workers in a labor shortage by advertising their company on social media, offering more competitive wages, and making the interview process more streamlined and efficient with online applications.

Increasing Revenue
Small businesses are the backbone of the American economy, but many struggle to maintain profitability. Increasing revenue is an essential part of running a successful company. However, many find it hard to compete with large-scale competitors because they cannot afford the expensive marketing or advertisement strategies that these corporations use. Owner/ Operators are facing a difficult market to grow and increase revenue. Many are considering how to cut costs, while still making their products or services appealing to customers.

For any company to be successful and profitable, there needs to be a certain element of strategy. Some tactics that can help a company make money are making sure the products are high-quality, branding the products in a way that reflects their mission statement or values, and focusing on customer service. In order to ensure that customers will come back, the company should also work towards making themselves sustainable by taking care of their employees and giving back to their communities.

The internet has made the process of marketing much easier. There are many inexpensive marketing strategies that can be done online. This can be a cost-effective option, and with the right strategy in place, can be a very powerful tool. Social media is a popular tool for advertising. Using platforms like Instagram and Facebook provide companies the opportunity to share their brand story, products, and services with a global audience for free. Another solution is to create videos on Youtube and post links to them on sites like Reddit where a community of people who fit the target market can be engaged. Spending only a little time each day can help connect with customers.

In conclusion, Oregon is a state that has access to many resources that can help industries succeed in their ventures. There are also some exemptions on taxes for different types of ventures, which make it easier on the pocketbook while doing business.
