Top 10 States That Have Received the Highest EHR Incentive Payments

Highest EHR Incentive Payments  :California leads the 50 states in terms of incentive payments for electronic health record meaningful use received by its providers and hospitals, according to data from CMS.

Since the inception of the Medicare and Medicaid electronic health record incentive programs in 2011, CMS has paid out a total of $14.4 billion in incentive payments to 345,559 eligible professionals and hospitals.

Here are the top ten states that have received the highest incentive payments since the program’s inception, according to the report:

1. California — $1.2 billion
2. Texas — $1.1 billion
3. Florida — $977 million
4. New York — $837 million
5. Pennsylvania — $691 million
6. Illinois — $634 million
7. Ohio — $606 million
8. Michigan — $480 million
9. Massachusetts — $423 million
10. Georgia — $392 million
