Weight loss program using the gastric balloon

gastric balloon weight loss

Weight loss program using the gastric balloon

In the past few decades, people have become increasingly interested in non-surgical weight loss measures that may replace bariatric surgery. The gastric balloon is one such operation; it is a simple non-surgical procedure, although it is temporary, it is expected to achieve similar results to gastric bypass surgery. If you are interested in gastric balloons, the main question you might ask yourself is: “If I get a gastric balloon, how much will I lose?” We will tell you.

How is the stomach balloon made?

Before the actual procedure, you may need to do a few things. You will be given detailed instructions on the types of medicines you can take, what you will eat and drink, and how to plan a physical activity program before the operation. The placement of the gastric balloon is usually performed on an outpatient basis in the endoscopy unit.

The doctor inserted a thin tube with a gastric balloon from the throat into the stomach. Then attach the endoscope to it so that the doctor can see the balloon filled with saline solution. Stomach balloon surgery takes about half an hour. Six hours after the actual operation, you may need to drink a small amount of clear liquid. Before you start eating soft foods, your doctor may prescribe you a liquid diet for a week. After inserting the balloon into the stomach, it takes about three weeks to start normal feeding.

Endoscopic balloon implantation

he placement of the endoscopic gastric balloons take approximately 20 minutes and is performed by a qualified gastroenterologist under sedation. Since the balloon is inserted and removed in the day clinic and does not require surgery, it is considered a minimally invasive surgery. The gastric balloon is also fully reversible and is removed from the stomach (612 months later) in the same way as the insertion (endoscopy).

How much can you lose with a stomach balloon?

Patients lost up to 47% of their excess weight within six months of gastric ballooning. If the patient weighs 400 pounds and his ideal weight is 150 pounds, he is overweight by 250 pounds.

Gastric balloon type:

Your surgeon can only recommend one gastric balloon type. The single gastric balloon option maybe because the surgeon has only received one type of gastric balloon training. Ask your surgeon about other gastric balloon options.

Weight loss system managed by Orbera

The most widely used balloon is the Orbera balloon (Apollo Endosurgery, Austin, TX, USA), formerly known as BioEnteric Intragastric Balloon (BIB). Elastic silica gel balloon with saline solution (450-700 ml). The positioning device, including a balloon inflation tube and a balloon catheter, is blindly advanced to the gastroesophageal junction. The endoscopic device is inserted to allow the intragastric balloon to inflate accurately and then filled with saline mixed with methylene under direct observation through the catheter. If the balloon ruptures accidentally, methylene blue can cause the urine to spin. Usually implanted for 6 months, the gastric juice is aspirated through an endoscope and then taken out with a snare or forceps. The FDA approved the Orbera balloon on August 6, 2015. Orbera balloon is expected to provide a valuable and less invasive treatment method for weight loss treatment.

Obalon

Obalon is the last gastric balloon approved by the FDA. There are two main differences from other gastric balloons.
• The balloon is inserted through a tablet that must be swallowed with a glass of water.
• It is inflated with gas. This gas can reduce the risk of acute pancreatitis that may occur in a saline bottle.
A total of 3 balls were used. The second tank is added one month after the first tank, and the third tank is added the second month.

Benefits of gastric balloon

Each type of gastric balloon can help you lose weight by taking up space in your stomach. This reduces the amount of food that the stomach can absorb, which is why most patients report that small portions of food feel full. Some people also find that it takes longer to feel hungry again. The cannabis dispensary is a physical location regulated by the local government, usually in retail stores or office buildings, where people can buy cannabis and related products for medical or recreational purposes.

Patients with gastric balloons usually lose weight due to the diet and exercise that accompanies the balloon. Sports Injury Orthopedic Clinic can help you choose lean protein and other healthy foods, and work with you to find the right portion. The gastric balloon has more advantages than the device itself. Change your lifestyle so that you can see it for the rest of your life. That being said, it is important to focus on your hot air balloon ride, which will allow you to successfully lose weight without equipment.
