What Are the Different Types of CBD? A Brief Guide

Cannabis

The global CBD market is expected to expand by 21.2% from 2021 to 2028, reaching $13.4 billion. CBD is undoubtedly more popular than ever, and its use is only going to continue to grow.

CBD is a cannabinoid found in the cannabis plant.  It is one of the most common cannabinoids, and it has many health benefits, such as helping to reduce anxiety and alleviating chronic pain.

If you are considering trying CBD, now is an excellent time to start.

Yet, before you use it, you should know about the different types of CBD and what they mean for you. Read on to get started.

Full-Spectrum CBD

Full-spectrum CBD contains all parts of the cannabis plant, not just CBD. So, you would find CBN, CBG, and THC in full-spectrum oils.

Full-spectrum CBD will contain less than 0.3% of THC, but it is important to note that the THC will still be present.

Due to the “entourage effect,” it is thought that CBD is most effective when combined with other cannabinoids, which is also why full-spectrum CBD is generally more expensive than other types.

Broad-Spectrum CBD

Broad-spectrum CBD contains most of the parts of the cannabis plant except THC.

This is an excellent option if you want to use CBD and benefit from the entourage effect but would prefer to avoid THC.

CBD Isolate

CBD isolate is pure CBD with no other cannabinoids.

This is perfect for first-time CBD users who want to experiment with it. You can get a better understanding of how CBD affects you, as the other cannabinoids present in full-spectrum and broad-spectrum won’t be there to alter its effects.

CBD isolate is also refined, so it won’t have any odor or taste. If you would prefer something water soluble, CBD powder is another similar option.

CBD Oil

There are many different forms that CBD takes, and CBD oil was one of the first ones on the market. CBD oil is generally a mixture of CBD and carrier oil, such as hemp seed oil or coconut oil.

When using CBD, it’s essential that you know the dosage you’re taking, and using CBD oil is one of the easiest ways to do so. It is also one of the most effective methods.

You can take it sublingually by placing a few drops under your tongue. You should feel the effects in as soon as ten minutes.

You can also put CBD oil in lotions or balms and apply it topically. This can help soothe any sore joints or chronic aches.

CBD Flower

CBD flower is a smokable form of CBD. It is any strain of cannabis that has less than 0.3% THC content, so CBD flower will contain other cannabinoids.

It is an effective way of using CBD, as it goes directly into your bloodstream. You could begin feeling the relaxing effects immediately.

Know the Different Types of CBD

Though it may seem a bit confusing at first, learning the different types of CBD is quite simple. Use this guide to decide which type of CBD is best for you and start reaping the benefits of CBD.
