What Everybody Should Know About Rhinoplasty Before and After Pictures

Ever thought about getting a nose job? If you have an injury and your nose was damaged, getting a nose job is a sure way to fix the injury. If you are having breathing problems, you can have them corrected through rhinoplasty. If you want to be rid of your insecurities, you can make it happen. You can see these changes in pictures of before and after nose jobs. But what is rhinoplasty in the first place, and can you trust these before and after pictures?

What is rhinoplasty?

A rhinoplasty is a cosmetic procedure that alters the appearance of the nose. You may know it as a nose job, and it is quite common, especially in major cities with cosmetic surgeons. The procedure itself involves a complete reconstruction of the nose, whether it is to achieve a certain aesthetic or reconstruct an injury to the nose. If you are not sure what procedures are possible, you can always look at the before and after pictures of clients. But what should you look for in these pictures?

What can you derive from before and after pictures?

You may see a lot of before and after pictures of individuals who have undergone rhinoplasty procedures. It can be convincing at first glance. But what can you derive from these pictures? Will you even be able to tell the difference? Can you see what kind of changes were made to get the after picture? Can you determine what kind of rhinoplasty procedure was done? These are all valid questions that you should ask your surgeon before you undergo such a procedure.

What changes to look out for?

If you look at the pictures, you can see changes if you know where to look. You can check the size and the shape of the nose to determine if there are significant changes. You can look at them in side-profile and front-facing angles so you can have a better look at the nose’s shape and size. If you notice missing divots and bumps on the bridge in the after picture, you know that it was made possible by the rhinoplasty procedure.

You can also notice changes with the bridge of the nose. These procedures include the alteration of a hooked nose or a wide bridge. Although a bit more subtle, the nostril size can also be compared in the before and after pictures, if there is a picture with a nostril angle. You can visibly see these changes just by looking at these pictures alone, so if you have insecurities with your nose, you can see what changes can be made.

What cannot be shown by these pictures?

There are changes that you will not be able to see on the before and after pictures. These changes may not be visible, but they can be done if you consult with your doctor. For instance, if you have breathing problems due to a narrow nasal passage, it can be corrected. Blockages can be removed, and deviated septum can be corrected to adjust the breathing function.

Although you can rely on these pictures of before and after nose jobs, you should still have a proper consultation with your cosmetic surgeon. Ask the right questions so you know what kind of procedures can be done for you. It does not matter whether you want the procedures done for aesthetic purposes or fix an injury or even correct a health issue. As long as a trusted cosmetic surgeon performs it, you will get the after that you desire.
