What to Buy for Fall

what to buy for fall

What to Buy for Fall

The weather during the fall season is almost perfect for many people. It is not too cold or too hot outside for outdoor activities with friends and family. You will start seeing pumpkin-flavored everything and also colorful leaves falling to the ground. If you love fall, here are nine things you need to buy for this time of year.

Sports Equipment

Many people prefer to play outdoor sports during the fall because the weather is so nice. If you are one of these types of people, you should probably invest in some nice equipment before you join a league. You will want nice shoes for running outdoors, softball gloves to play with your kids or to play in an adult team, and maybe even a soccer ball.

Candles

One of the best things about fall is all of the spicy scents that come out to play. For you, this may be pumpkin scent and flavor for everything. Or maybe you prefer apple cider so that your home always smells like you just baked a pie. Whatever your favorite fall scent, now is the time to stock up on candles.

Slow Cooker

Now that the weather is starting to cool off, you may want to consider buying a slow cooker. With football games comes chili, queso, and other dips that are perfectly made when simmering slowly. It is also a very convenient way to have dinner ready. Google “slow cooker meals” to get started. Almost all warm meals can be made in a slow cooker in some way.

Plaid

Whether you choose a plaid button-down shirt to go for that lumberjack look or a plaid rug for the front door, you should know that fall is the perfect time to bring out all of the plaid things. If you will be attending football games, you should buy a plaid jacket for chilly nights. You could even buy a plaid throw pillow to add to your couch.

Pumpkins

If you have children or nieces and nephews, the fall is a great time to buy real pumpkins to carve and bake the seeds for a yummy snack. Even without children, you can decorate your front porch with pumpkins. If real ones are not for you, there are plenty of decorative pumpkin items to buy for placing around your fireplace and console tables.

Coffee Mugs

If you are a daily coffee drinker, you probably already have these on hand. If you do not drink coffee regularly, there are still other delicious warm drinks to enjoy. Fall is the season for teas and flavored ciders. Do not forget hot chocolate with plenty of marshmallows.

Boots

There are so many different boots to choose from this time of year. If you enjoy hiking, you may want a really good pair of hiking boots. There are over-the-knee boots you can wear on date night or dinner out with friends. And you should also buy cute flat booties to wear with jeans and dresses in every color.

Pie Dishes

The fall season is when homemade pies are in full swing. Have you found a delicious-looking recipe for sweet potato, cherry, apple, or pecan pie? It is definitely time to make all of the pies. Consider baking a pie for all of your upcoming social gatherings and giving them away as gifts. Your pie will be complete in a super cute pie dish with leaves and other fall-themed etching.

Books

If outdoor activities are not your favorite, or you find yourself with more time to spend at home, you should take advantage of this time to catch up on your reading. No matter if you like love stories or murder mysteries, there are plenty of books to choose from. You can enjoy taking a break from reality and indulge yourself in a good story with a mug of tea, a blanket, and cuddling up with your dog by the fireplace.
