The Impact of Giving Patients Access to Clinical Notes – University of Missouri Health Care, Columbia St. Mary’s, VCU Medical Center

These three organizations share clinical notes with their patients through the OpenNotes initiative. OpenNotes is designed to give patients access to the visit notes written by their doctors, nurses, or other clinicians. Advancing Medication Management with the Pursuit to Perfection – Fort Healthcare

Tuesday, Oct. 13, 4:30–5:30 p.m.

With the ever changing landscape of health care, Fort recognized the opportunity to review medication management practices to improve medication dispensing and its corresponding workflow processes. Fort will discuss how Cerner’s RxStation helped the organization with improved productivity, a key component in optimizing patient and staff satisfaction. Saving Time, Money, and Uniting Competitors with HIE Technology – Inspira Health Network

Monday, Oct. 12, 1:30-2:00 p.m.

Using Cerner’s Health Information Exchange technology, Inspira Health Network nurses can refer patients to skilled nursing facilities much more quickly, saving clinicians time and patients thousands of dollars. Inspira cut length of stay by half a day, which equates to an average savings of $1,200 per patient.
