Cerner Replaces IBM in Canadian Project

1. Cerner won a new contract in Vancouver, Canada, in which the vendor will provide its EHR software system to three health systems in the western province. The bid was originally awarded toIBM, but officials sought another vendor because of issues with the project.

2. The U.S. Coast Guard went live on InterSystems’ interoperability platform that will connect its legacy technology to its Epic EHR.

3. Medical providers have exchanged 1.5 million medical referrals on eClinicalWorks‘ EHR network P2POpen.

4. Cerner integrated NARxCHECK from Appriss, an analytics solution offering real-time insight to help providers in prescription decisions for controlled substances, into its EHR.

5. On Monday, Google Cofounder Larry Page announced the formation of a new company called Alphabet, which will serve as the parent holding company of Google and its affiliates.
