Dec 02 : Zoeticx to Announce EHR Middleware Initiative at mHealth, December 8th

Zoeticx “Teaser” Press Release Announcement

Zoeticx CEO Thanh Tran will be conducting an “EHR Connectivity Clinic” at the mHealth Summit, December 7-11, Booth # 122-21.  He will be discussing an initiative to make middleware the standard operating system for EHRs and finally bring lack of EHR interoperability to an end.  Most importantly, he wants to let medical professionals know a solution to this problem is available today to help stop the 1,000 people who die every day from medical errors.

Middleware is the heart of the Health Open Architecture (HOA) he designed for the Zoeticx Patient Clarity Server. It enables medical institutions to seamlessly connect multiple EMRs, resulting in a convenient, consistent and universal view of patient records from a single platform, regardless of where they reside.

“A middleware architecture has been shown to be the best technological solution for addressing the problem of EHR interoperability. This design facilitates the transparent, yet secure, access of patient health data, directly from the various databases where it is stored. A server-based middleware framework supporting access to the various patient health data stores allows for a scalable, unified and standardized platform for applications to be developed upon. The middleware architectural design has been successfully used in financial, retail, manufacturing and other market segments to link data from multiple databases, irrespective to the database platform or where the database is located,” said Than Tran, CEO of Zoeticx.

Top Ten Reasons for EHR’s to Use Middleware for Connectivity

A Proven Technology Used in Many Industries— Successfully used in financial, retail, manufacturing and other market segments for decades.

  • Enables EHR Interoperability–The “glue” that allows EHR databases to connect to each other.
  • Pushes Active Data–Eliminates “silent silos” of passive data and enables active, real-time data for analysis and collaboration between medical professionals.
  •  Avoids HIE Style Data Duplication– Avoids the need for any data duplication, an      ideal alternative to the more cumbersome Health Information Exchanges’ (HIEs) approach.
  • Ends Wastefulness of Rip and Replace– Effectively ends the costly practice of    “ripping and replacing” duplicative IT systems when medical organizations consolidate.
  • Extends EHR Usefulness–Many recent surveys depict user dissatisfaction with EHR’s   in their current form, but believe connectivity would greatly extend their value.
  • Drives A Universal Data View From a Single Platform– Enables hospitals to connect   all EMRs, creating a universal view of patient records from a single platform from        anywhere.
  • Helps Prevent Needless Deaths from Medical Errors–1,000 patients die every day    from medical errors that middleware can help prevent.
  • Delivers the Right Data to the Right Care Givers at the Right Time– The real-time active data flows information to the right caregiver at the right time to improve patient outcomes.
  • Helps Patients Manage Their Own Care–By having access to their own records, patients can have more input to their own care.
