Dr. Hyde earned his undergraduate degree in biological sciences from Cornell University and his degree in medicine from the State University of New York at Stony Brook. At Stony Brook, he received the honor of graduating with Distinction in Research. He trained in Orthopaedics at Long Island Jewish Medical Center. Dr. Hyde completed his first fellowship in Spinal Surgery at the renowned Texas Back Institute. He was selected to represent the Texas Back Institute in a 5 month traveling fellowship at the University of Nottingham, England at the AO/ASIF sponsored Centre for Spinal Surgery.
