Ebix Acquires Via Media Health, a Health Communication Agency

Atlanta-based Ebix, an international supplier of on-demand software and e-commerce services to the insurance, financial and healthcare industries, has acquired Via Media Health, a health communication agency, as per a company release.

Via Media Health will be integrated with its A.D.A.M. Health Information Exchange Division and will be known as A.D.A.M India.

This acquisition will provide A.D.A.M. (Animated Dissection of Anatomy for Medicine) with access to clients across healthcare delivery, diagnostics, consumer health, pharmaceuticals and public health.

Ebix president and CEO Robin Raina said, “We are excited that we are entering the Indian market at a time when health services and education have been declared a priority by the Indian government. A.D.A.M Health Information Exchange and Via Media Health complement each other’s services, opening up cross-selling opportunities on both sides.”

Via Media Health’s acquisition comes three months after Ebix acquired Birmingham-based Oakstone Publishing LLC which is expected to help Ebix’s efforts to expand A.D.A.M’s global presence. Via Media Health, which will now be called A.D.A.M India, will also focus on making Oakstone’s education services available locally.

This includes certification , as well as wellness resources for organisations.

A.D.A.M India will be headquartered in Noida and will work closely with the global headquarters in Atlanta. Swadeep Srivastava will serve as vice president and country head of A.D.A.M India operations.

Prosight Partners was the investment banker for Via Media Health.
