Health concierge startup Accolade adds IT muscle with new CTO

After raising $71.1 million in August to ramp up its technology platform, Accolade has filled two key positions to bolster its position in the healthcare IT market.

Harish Naidu joins Accolade as chief technology officer, and Phong Nguyen comes onboard as executive vice president of product management.

Both executives bring decades of experience using technology to simplify complex processes and successes launching innovative product solutions, the better to support the startup, which offers an on-demand healthcare concierge for employers, health plans and health systems.

Accolade executives say the company, which employs about 600 people, has achieved 100-percent growth in its technology operations during the past 12 months.

Naidu brings more than two decades of software industry product development experience to Accolade, where he is responsible for building out and leading the company’s product capabilities.

Prior to joining Accolade, Naidu was executive vice president at Globalscholar/Scantron. Before that, he spent 22 years at Microsoft, where he served as general manager for several products and strategic initiatives.

“We want to bring this capability to millions of lives,” Naidu said. “The wellness space is multi-billion dollar industry. There’s a trend in the consumer space to really take some control around their wellness, and employers are providing incentives.”
