HealthFusion Inc.‘s MediTouch® EHR e-prescribing (eRx) system has been awarded the Surescripts White Coat of Quality for 2014 for an unprecedented fourth consecutive year. The White Coat of Quality is Surescripts’ highest recognition for software providers that uphold their strict standards for clinical quality and best practices in e-prescribing. Only four of the top 40 EHRs are multi-year winners and four-time winners are even more rare with fewer than 10 achieving that distinction.
Previously certified as a Surescripts Solution Provider the MediTouch e-prescribing system is designed to facilitate increased care quality and patient safety. Among the stringent requirements HealthFusion met to earn the 2014 White Coat of Quality award were:
- Measure e-prescription content error levels monthly and report to Surescripts in final submission.
- Submit a quality commitment letter signed by senior leadership affirming the company’s commitment toward a goal of zero electronic prescription content errors.
- Make any software changes needed to reduce e-prescription clinical content error levels.
- Communicate with or train end-users on how to better utilize their e-prescribing system to reduce clinical content errors
