Kurt Salmon’s has been Named a Ranked Provider of Vendor Selection

vendor selection

Kurt Salmon’s Health Care IT Practice has been named a ranked provider of vendor selection services, according to the 2014 Best in KLAS: Software and Services Report. Kurt Salmon received an overall score of 94.1 out of 100 for vendor selection. The report also recognized Kurt Salmon for excellence in the planning and assessment segment, where it ranked second with an overall score of 95.9.

This is the fifth year in a row the global consultancy’s health care practice has been recognized by the independent research agency for its vendor selection services, having also been named a ranked provider in 2010 and 2011 and Category Leader in 2012 and 2013. The segment covers services ranging from vendor evaluation and contract negotiations to building workforce buy-in. The planning and assessment segment, in which the firm has also been ranked for the past several years, covers strategic planning, IT assessment, readiness assessments, workflow redesign and other services.

“There has been significant activity across the health IT vendor landscape, including M&A activity, the introduction of new offerings, maturation of existing applications and the sunsetting of aging legacy products,” said Stacy Melvin, partner and practice leader of Kurt Salmon’s Health Care IT Practice. “We’ve been proud to help our clients navigate the evolving marketplace to assist them in identifying the technology they need, particularly as they look to drive the shift to value-based care.”

Several clients surveyed by KLAS about vendor selection over the course of 2014 noted Kurt Salmon’s neutrality, and 100% of those included in the 2014 Best in KLAS: Software and Services Report said they would buy the firm’s vendor selection services again.

“What I appreciate from Kurt Salmon was them really, really knowing the market; knowing what clients were doing; knowing the vendors quite well; and maintaining neutrality but also helping us to make a decision,” one chief information officer told KLAS in August 2014.

A planning and assessment client director told KLAS in July 2014, “I have used Kurt Salmon for numerous projects since 2004. I consider them to be the most trusted of advisors. We have, without exception, received expert results and gotten more than our money’s worth with them.”
